Merry Christmas

The kids had a great time opening gifts on Christmas eve morning (mom had to work Christmas day). They were both pleased with everything Santa brought them. The toys and Max's new Nintendo DS has kept them both occupied for hours and hours. We were blessed to be able to spend a lot of time with family and indulge in great food. Looking forward to a happy, healthy, safe 2008!!

Wow, a ton of snow!

Last night we received around 10 inches of snow! Max and Ava enjoyed riding the snowmobile and sledding all day long. We love when it snows like this, it is so pretty and gets us all in the holiday spirit.

cookie fun!

Ava proud of the final product

Max showing off the final product

Max using the mixer for the 1st time. He did really well! This is the first time he has shown interest in helping mom cook.

Max and Ava enjoyed making cut out cookies. Mommy had A LOT of help, almost more than she needed :) Max enjoyed blowing on the flour and making big puffs of dust, Ava's favorite part was eating the cookie dough. She is definitely my sweet tooth girl!

1st snow

We had our first snow fall of this winter. It was a impressive one too, 4 inches, enough for the kids to sled and have a little fun. Ava's hands were so cold by the time they came in I was afraid that they were frost bit. oops. They didn't turn black so I think we are ok.

Santa came to Angola

Saturday we were lucky enough to visit Santa "behind the scenes" at the Angola fire station, thanks to our friend Caleb. Ava was a little unsure of Santa at first, but as soon Max sat on his lap, she was all about it too! Each of them gave a few ideas of toys that they would like to have and Santa in return asked them if they've been good this year. We said that they have been good for the most part and we remind them everyday that Santa is watching.

Happy Thanksgiving

Ava reading to Aunt Jayma
Hi All,
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We enjoyed the day, ate way too much, tired the kids out and went to bed early! We will not be doing any early bird shopping tomorrow. I'll let others deal with the craziness, I prefer to shop when stores aren't so busy.

fall yard work

Daddy and Ava picking up leaves with our leaf catcher.

going back into the archives

I have to show Max's first day of Kindergarten at Ryan Park. He is loving school and learning new things each and every day. He likes riding the bus to school in the morning (even though it made mom a little nervous at first). He comes home everyday with a backpack full of papers and crafts to show us.

The kids really enjoyed carving pumpkins this year. Max actually cleaned his out and cut the top all by himself. He was proud! Ava had fun as well, she liked coloring all over the pumpkin with a black sharpie...

We also enjoyed a fall evening at Hilger's farm market in Fort Wayne with all the cousins. We got to do all of the fun activities plus a fun hayride, which the kids really liked. They had a big sunflower patch and everyone got to pick one to take home.
